SAVED AIR FORCE COLONEL (O-6) DULY EARNED RETIREMENT PAY

November 2023

Ashleigh Berglund represented an Air Force Colonel (O-6) who had previously received a Letter of Reprimand (LOR) and an Unfavorable Information File (UIF). As a result, the O-6 was subjected to an Air Force Officer Grade Determination (OGD) Board to determine whether he should be paid less than O-6 pay in retirement! Ashleigh was able to illustrate to the OGD Board how the isolated incident was an uncharacteristic departure from an otherwise impressive and compelling military career. She further highlighted the accomplishments and contributions of the O-6 which persuasively established that he had served exceptionally in the grade of O-6, warranting full retirement benefits in that grade.  Ashleigh's work is likely to result in the Colonel receiving $100,000 or more in retirement benefits over his lifetime than if the case was lost.
